Our Story + Leadership
Founded in 1986 by Jim and Susan Stump, California Interior has grown into one of Northern California’s trusted names in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and fine woodworking. Today, California Interior is a second-generation, woman-owned company led by Jenny Stump, who continues the family legacy with a refined design perspective, meticulous project management, and a deep understanding of how cabinetry shapes the way a space functions and feels.
Specializing in luxury custom homes, large-scale remodels, and commercial millwork projects, Jenny collaborates closely with homeowners, builders, architects, and interior designers from the earliest stages of construction. From blueprint review and cabinetry layouts to shop drawings, fabrication, and installation, she oversees every phase of the design-build process with precision and clarity.
Known for exceptional craftsmanship, honest communication, and highly organized execution, California Interior is trusted to deliver custom woodwork that feels timeless, intentional, and seamlessly integrated into the architecture of each space. Clients value not only the quality of the finished product, but also the collaborative experience and confidence that comes from working with a knowledgeable, solutions-focused team.
We are incredibly grateful that much of our business comes from long-standing relationships and personal referrals. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with talented architects, interior designers, builders, contractors, and homeowners who continue to trust us project after project. Those lasting relationships are something we never take for granted. They are built on craftsmanship, clear communication, reliability, and a shared commitment to creating exceptional spaces. We consider it an honor when clients and industry partners return to us, recommend us to others, and become part of the California Interior family.

Turning a House Back Into a Home
“After losing our home in a fire, rebuilding felt overwhelming – especially designing a kitchen for our family from scratch. Jenny guided us through every step with incredible patience, compassion, and expertise. She listened carefully to how our family actually lives and created a kitchen that is not only beautiful, but truly functional for everyday life.
Her recommendations for storage solutions, cabinet organization, and interior hardware completely changed how we use our space. From hidden drawers to custom inserts and thoughtful details we never would have considered ourselves, every decision felt intentional and tailored to us.
What stood out most was how supported we felt throughout the entire process. Jenny made difficult decisions feel manageable and brought a calm, confident presence during a very emotional time for our family. The craftsmanship is exceptional, and our kitchen has become the heart of our new home. We are endlessly grateful for California Interior and the care they put into every detail.”
